Founded in 1871, the University of Arkansas is the flagship of the University of Arkansas System. As a land-grant institution, our core mission is to create opportunities for students throughout the state with competitive public education, research, and service. We do this knowing that when our students are empowered to pursue their academic and professional goals, they go on to use their talents to help others and to improve the economic wellbeing of communities throughout Arkansas.
