STARS College Network Privacy Policy

The STARS College Network brings together sixteen of the nation’s most prominent universities and colleges as member institutions. These institutions are dedicated to working together to help students from small-town and rural America enroll in, succeed at, and graduate from the undergraduate program of their choice.


The STARS College Network is committed to safeguarding the privacy of students and their parents or guardians. When you consent to participate in the STARS program, information you provide to us through our website or services may be disclosed both within the STARS Network or to third parties outside of the network. This Privacy Policy describes our practices on the collection, use, and disclosure of information about you.

STARS Network Use of Information

We use information that you provide to us and information we collect about you for the purposes of programming and educational outreach. This information includes, but may not be limited to:

  • Name
  • Address
  • Email
  • High School
  • Graduation Year
  • Major interest

Members of our network may use your information to analyze and improve our recruitment process, for outreach efforts, and for other education-related processes and functions. We also might use your information to conduct general research. Members may use your information and share it internally with other offices and units within their University. For example, a network member may share your information with their summer program office, admission office, college advising, financial aid teams, or others for administrative purposes or to provide services to you. Member institutions may carry their own privacy notices or additional information relating to their activities, which will supplement this Privacy Notice. A list of privacy notices applicable to specific University units or activities is included at the end of this Privacy Notice.

Opt-out

If, at any point, you withdraw from the program, your collected data will no longer be shared either within the network or with third parties. To opt-out, please email the contact listed below.
